The European Patent Office has issued a notice of allowance for European patent application 23781667.3, “Microscale flexible strain sensor.” It covers Advanced Optronics’ core thin-film capacitive sensor technology. The invention was developed at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and is exclusively licensed to us, and we thank CMU again for filing the application.

The allowance follows the Australian grant of June 2025 and, after a second independent examination, clears the way for a European patent. We also have applications on cochlear implant shape reconstruction, instrumented cochlear implants, and a cochlear implant training simulator. The US application is pending.

The application is on Google Patents.
